We are excited to announce the 4th season of the Austin Chess Tour!
The tour will consist of 5 Open Qualifiers and 5 Junior Qualifiers.
The top 10 finishers will earn the opportunity to compete in the AGCA Fall Open: 2100+ Section regardless of their USCF rating.
Who is eligible to qualify for the AGCA Fall Open: 2100+ Section?
7 qualification spots will be awarded to players with the highest point totals from the Open Qualifiers
3 qualification spots will be awarded to players with the highest point totals from the Junior Qualifiers
Please note:
Out of the five qualifying tournaments, only the best four results will be counted for each player, with the lowest score excluded.
Additionally, if a player qualifies through the Open Qualifiers, their Junior Qualifier results will not be counted toward the final Junior standings.
Points System
The top 10 finishers in the main section of each qualifying tournament will earn points as follows:
1st Place: 25 points
2nd Place: 18 points
3rd Place: 15 points
4th Place: 12 points
5th Place: 10 points
6th Place: 8 points
7th Place: 6 points
8th Place: 4 points
9th Place: 2 points

What happens in the event of ties within a tournament?
In the case of ties, the points for the tied places will be combined and split evenly among the tied players.
For example, a two-way tie for 4th place would result in 11 points awarded to each player (average of 4th and 5th place points).
Do Open Qualifier (OQ) points count toward Junior Qualifier (JQ) standings, or vice versa?
No. Open and Junior Qualifiers are scored separately.
Open Qualifier points count only toward the 7 Open qualification spots
Junior Qualifier points count only toward the 3 Junior qualification spots
